Series 2 returns to the BBC!

This June and July, Anastasia, Eddie and Sue return to BBC radio as the second season of Night Terrace is repeated on Radio 4 Extra!

You can hear all eight episodes as they are broadcast weekly on BBC Radio 4 Extra at 6:30 PM (BST/GMT+1), from Sunday, 5th June 2022. Each episode will also be repeated six hours later at half past midnight, and available via BBC Sounds for 30 days after broadcast. You can find the schedule on the BBC web site, though note they only show about two weeks in advance.

Night Terrace stars (left to right) Ben McKenzie, Petra Elliott and Jackie Woodburne.

If this is your first time listening to Night Terrace, you might like to get yourself oriented with the very first episode, “Moving House”, which you can listen to for free right here on this site.

You can find all of Night Terrace for sale in our store here on the site, or via Bandcamp.

And if you want more Night Terrace content, you got it! During the show’s first broadcast on BBC radio, we produced a podcast after show, On the Terrace, hosted by Neighbours superfan Vaya Pashos. Each episode of On the Terrace goes behind the scenes on an episode of Night Terrace, including guests from the cast and crew, excerpts of studio recordings and cut scenes, and explanations of the Australian references. Search for it in your favourite podcast directory, or see the list of episodes here.

Are you listening to Night Terrace on the BBC? Let us know! We love to hear from you. Give us a shout on Twitter or Facebook, or drop us an email at info@nightterrace.com.

A third series of Night Terrace is in production, though still dealing with ongoing delays from the global pandemic.

Back on the BBC!

This November, Anastasia, Eddie and Sue are back on British airwaves as the first season of Night Terrace is repeated on BBC radio!

You can hear all eight episodes as they are broadcast nightly on BBC Radio 4 Extra at 6 PM (GMT) from Monday, November 9. Each episode will also be repeated at midnight, and available via BBC catchup services for 30 days afterwards, including in the BBC Sounds app for mobile devices. You can find the schedule on the BBC web site, though note they only show about two weeks in advance.

To celebrate, we’re making publicly available a new slice of the Night Terrace universe: For Your Ears Only, an in-universe “emergency contingency podcast” from the shadowy D.E.P.A.R.T.M.E.N.T.

The first (very short) season of For Your Ears Only is the “Stage 4 Training Module”, conceived, written and performed by Petra Elliott as “Sue”. It takes the form of a series of instructions you can follow while walking, jogging or running during periods of lockdown to help keep your mind as active as your body. Being a secret D.E.P.A.R.T.M.E.N.T. communique, its not currently available via the major podcast directories; head to the For Your Ears Only page to find details on how you can subscribe, or you can listen direct from the page!

Remember too that if you want your own copy of Night Terrace to keep and listen to whenever you want, you can always buy it from our store here on the site, or via Bandcamp. If you’re keen to support Splendid Chaps Productions, you can buy any of our seasons or mini-series from Bandcamp on Bandcamp Friday, when the platform is waiving their fees to help support artists during the COVID-19 pandemic; the next one is on Friday, November 6.

Night Terrace - time travelling to 6 PM Sundays on BBC Radio 4 Extra! Series 1 from April 21, series 2 from August 25.

Coming soon to a BBC near you!

We said we’d have some big news early this year – and this is it! Night Terrace is coming to the BBC! To celebrate, we’re making a new podcast discussing the show – and we want to answer your questions!

Landing on BBC radio from April 21

Beginning April 21, Night Terrace season one – or series one, to use the BBC term – will be broadcast weekly on Sundays on BBC digital channel Radio 4 Extra at 6 PM UK time (that should be 3 AM Monday morning, Melbourne time, given he changeover for daylight savings). It will also be rebroadcast at midnight (9 AM Monday our time), and each episode will be available internationally in the BBC iPlayer (aka BBC Sounds) for 30 days after broadcast. After a break, series two will follow in the same timeslot from August 25.

You’ll see Night Terrace pop up in the Radio 4 Extra schedule about two weeks before broadcast. If you can’t wait until then, you can still listen to episode one right here, and both series – plus two mini-series and our live recorded special – remain on sale on our web site and in our Bandcamp store.

For media enquiries, please contact Barbara Wright at The Wright Word Publicity via thewrightwordpublicity@gmail.com. Review copies are available to media.

On the Terrace

To celebrate the BBC broadcast, we’ve decided to put together a new, limited-run weekly podcast: On the Terrace. Hosted by Vaya Pashos of the hit Neighbours podcast Neighbuzz, each instalment of On the Terrace will discuss that week’s episode of Night Terrace with guests from the cast and crew. Watch this site for more on this new project very soon!

Cast and crew will also be answering questions from fans, and we’d love you to send in yours! Email them to us at info@nightterrace.com and we’ll do our best to answer them.
